My Approach
I am an integrated counselor which means that I use a variety of therapeutic approaches based on each client’s unique needs. Person Centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Mindfulness are some of the approaches that I use most often.
I see clients from 18 years old through adulthood for varying concerns such as anxiety, trauma, PTSD, self-esteem, relationship issues, and those wanting a space to process life and gain self-awareness. I welcome all people to my practice. I strive to see the world through your lens and understand your family, cultural, and identity experiences. I look forward to meeting with you!
Person centered therapy is a non-directive approach that utilizes compassion and non-judgment in order to support clients in identifying what they would like to explore and work on.
Mindfulness is frequently used in meditation and certain kinds of therapy. Its benefits include lowering stress levels, reducing harmful ruminating, and protecting against depression and anxiety.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based approach shown useful for addressing anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns. When using a CBT approach, we will discuss the impact that our thoughts have on our emotions and actions. Through this approach clients gain awareness of unhelpful thinking patterns.
